DEER REPELLENT

Winter deer repellent is a spray offered in November. It is applied to landscape plants, shrubs, and trees that deer are known to eat. The general target area is where a deer's head can reach. This is typically from the ground to 6 feet high. With an estimated 40 deer per square mile in Fairfield County, most of their food in forests is no longer available. They enjoy roaming through yards and eating expensive landscaping throughout winter. They also carry deer ticks that can be transported into your yard while they are looking for food. Deer are creatures of habit and once they know there is something to eat, they will frequently come back for more.

Our Deer Repellent program is the same one that Alan Potter of Newtown Arbor Services has developed and provided for years. It is a spray on product that the deer do not like the taste of. However, they must try it first to find out they do not like it. Once they have nibbled on some leaves, they realize they don't like it and associate its smell with something they don't like. They will move on to your neighbors. For existing customers, it is the same product that Alan has been using, so deer that have been around your property will recognize its smell.
